Islamabad—Pakistan and China agreed on Monday to strengthen cooperation on Afghanistan and support Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace and reconciliation process.
“Pakistan and China are ready to work together for peace and prosperity in South Asia,” a statement by Foreign Office spokeswoman said on Monday. Pakistan supports China in elevating its relations with SAARC, she said.
“China appreciates and supports Pakistan’s steps towards its mainstreaming into global non-proliferation regime, welcomes Pak engagement with NSG.”
Two countires support UN and UNSC reform and seek comprehensive solution that accommodates interests, concerns of all and enjoys extensive support of all members. “We have agreed to strengthen space cooperation, space technology applications, expand people to people, think tanks, media, publications and cultural exchanges.”
“We have agreed to further enhance maritime cooperation, strengthen policy dialogue& strategiccommunication and closely cooperate on navigation security.” She said Pakistan welcomes use of Silk Road Fund for China-Pak Economic Corridor projects. Both sides will actively facilitate important cooperation projects, she said.
